What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Thomsons Lake Nature Reserve is appreciated for its natural beauty, diverse wildlife like kangaroos and birds, and varied walking trails. However, visitors note the lack of clear signage, potential for winter flooding, and the absence of amenities like bins, requiring thorough preparation.
"Done several short trips here some on Mountain Bike some on foot haven't completed the full loop I think it is about 6km but there are several entry points to explore from plenty of wildlife and wildflowers overall an easy trek but multiple surfaces some Bike / walk paths, limestone and some sand. Some paths in the winter get flooded out and you may need to take a detour but still it is a nice little area to go for a walk"

"A beautiful swathe of banksia woodland and wetlands - a treasure for naturalists but not an easy place to visit for a casual tourist. We entered through the southern entryway. This access gate only admits slim, able-bodied visitors! No directional signage on tracks so take note of the map at the entryway. South-western track is wide, unshaded, and very sandy. Bring binoculars to see birds as the shoreline is marshy and distant from the track. Dogs are strictly banned. No rubbish bins."

"Jimmy the young boy who works at Foodies Market IGA Park Hive has lied to me.
He convinced me that there was buried treasure in the middle of Thomsons Lake Nature Reserve
Myself and a few fellows decided to get our scuba equipment and have a look inside the lake. Jimmy watch your back, Dave the Diver want's to have a chat with you"
