"A lovely sunny day to visit this interesting and very well built Harper's Mansion. Outside walls 3 x bricks thick and internal walls double brick. Cedar woodwork throughout. Very lovely garden, autumn colours on our visit. National Trust has done a wonderful job restoring it and showcasing its history. Built in 1830s. Great village to spend time in."

"Attending in springtime well worth it, an abundance of blooms, esp. old world varieties such as roses everywhere.
The house itself with it's small rooms and steep stairs are typical of its time. Was well presented as it once was.
Also an easy walk to many local cafes, eateries and boutique shops."
