What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Charleston Conservation Park offers a wild, untamed natural experience, praised by some for its native flora and wildlife spotting opportunities, especially at dawn and dusk. However, visitors should be prepared for unmaintained, overgrown trails that are mostly out-and-back, making it less suitable for leisurely strolls.
"On higher ground, there is dense growth of thick scrub, mostly wattle, following the fire. Grasses have nowhere else to grow but on the path: this is the only park I had to stop and remove wallaby grass seeds from my shoes and pants.
Near the creek bed it did not burn as much, there are reeds and sedges growing on path, red bellied black snake in the flooded tractor tracks and savage ants further up.
There is no loop. You can follow the path to the left until it disappears and return, same with the path to the right.
If you want to explore the wild to find native plants and animals this is a great place, not so much for a leisurely stroll."

"Not too bad, there's a "path"/track that goes all the way around it, however there's not much too it, there is animal shooting that takes place at dusk and dawn (times can be seen at the gate). Good place to see mushroom specimens if you're into that."
