Reviews Summary
Colleges Crossing Recreation Reserve is a beloved local spot praised for its natural beauty, dog-friendly atmosphere, and excellent facilities like restrooms and showers. Visitors appreciate the peaceful ambiance, especially during early mornings and sunsets, and the ample space for recreation. However, some find fruit flies bothersome in warmer months, and the lack of BBQs or shops requires visitors to come prepared.
"Visited on a Sunday around 5:30 am, and this place was absolutely lovely! The early morning calm was beautiful, and we even saw a few eagles soaring overhead. There’s plenty of parking and great facilities, including restrooms, showers, drink fountains, and bins. It’s a wonderful spot for a peaceful walk — and perfect for dogs too.
However, I did notice that some owners don’t clean up after their pets, which is disappointing and could risk future dog access if it continues. Also, while the river looks calm, there are clear signs warning about sharks, so swimming isn’t recommended.
In late October there were quite a few fruit flies, even early in the morning, so visiting during winter might be more pleasant. Overall, it’s a tranquil and well-maintained place — ideal for an early stroll or quiet start to the day!"

"This is one of my happy places. While it gets busy, it is still spacious enough to move around and enjoy the creek without being on top of eachother. Lots of wildlife to see around sunset and fun to splash around the creek on hot days."
