What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the clever preservation of historic buildings housing modern shops and a cafe, creating a unique heritage experience. The fortnightly Sunday markets are a highlight for finding unique souvenirs. Some reviews note that the interiors are modernized, which might not appeal to those seeking a purely historical museum.
"Nicely maintained original buildings which now have modern shops and businesses. A clever and novel way to preserve heritage"
G Mac
"Situated between The Esplanade and Dempster Street, the village is a delightful place to visit. While the exterior of the buildings are authentic and each being sign-posted and dated, the interiors have been modified to function as gift shops and a cafe. My personal favourite is ESP which stocks a gorgeous array of shoes, as well as bags and cards and gifts. The village is also host to a market fortnightly on a Sunday. Plenty of parking available both on and off road."

"βHistoricβ village is just arts and beauty shops no one needs."
