What to do in Esperance
As the title says, I'm going to Esperance. Rented a house and spending 7 days there, starting next Tuesday. Looking for suggestions on what to do while we're there. There will be my partner and I plus our 3 kids (they're not actually kids...ages are between 19 and 24). All…

TIL The only astronomically aligned, full-scale, intact replica Stonehenge in natural stone is Esperance Stonehenge in Australia. It cost about about A$250,000 to build and was recently on the market for A$2.1M.

Esperance (and surrounds) suggestions please!
Going down to Esperance for a bit in December, via Lake Grace & Ravensthorpe. Any suggestions on places to eat (brekkie/dinner) or sites to definitely visit? First time visiting (finally!), so very much open to any suggestions for Esperance and along the journey! Any tips…

How good is Esperance
First time down here over Christmas period - from Perth - so much to do and see. Gutted to be heading back tomorrow. Hellfire Bay, whartons beach, great ocean drive - feel like there’s so much more to do and see

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Esperance Stonehenge, calling it 'brilliant,' 'stunning,' and 'pure eccentricity.' The 1:1 scale replica is praised for its accessibility and the peaceful atmosphere within the stone circle. While some note the lack of historical depth on the original Stonehenge, the story of the local granite and astronomical alignments is highly appreciated. The friendly staff and the unique nature of the attraction make it a highly recommended stop.
"It's Stone Henge! You get a history of the installation with entry. They don't get into the uses of Stone Henge and history of the real Stone Henge; that's for you to unlock later. They make a pretty good Devonshire Teas - although it was missing the Tea. so, I had coffee. Reasonable entry fee and on the way to Cape Le Grande parks."

"I enjoyed seeing this very much as the scale is 1:1 with the original in the UK. Obviously not as worn and ancient looking but that is to be expected with the millennial time frame difference. Inside the stone circles one definitely felt the mystique of the place"
Annie Hardham
"I absolutely loved this place.
I missed seeing the “real” Stonehenge whilst in the UK… so to see it here was an experience.
The setting, the story behind the quarrying of the local granite, the “science” behind positioning it to align with the solstices was amazing.
Being inside the structure was peaceful & quiet - until a busload of tourists came.
Thoroughly recommend."
