What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Peninsula Hot Springs for its extensive range of thermal pools, beautiful natural surroundings, and relaxing atmosphere. The hilltop pool and Spa Dreaming Centre are frequently highlighted as favorites. However, many note that the springs can become extremely crowded, diminishing the tranquil experience, especially during peak times and weekends.
"Loved our visit. Place is clean and well maintained considering the footfall is so high. Staff is helpful. Water temperature is well maintained between 33-40 degrees, so it's not too hot and gives a good feeling of calmness and relaxation once you step into the pool. There are no such age restrictions, so feel free to visit along with kids. Although i would not recommend it for kids under at least 12 months."

"I love this place. Hot Springs in a lovely bush-like environment. You can choose from pools over different temperatures - from the hottest (40-42 degrees) to the cool pools (around 19 degrees).
The natural thermal springs are tucked away among the trees, and as you climb the small hill you'll find pools everywhere. I recommend following the hill path to the top pools, which provide beautiful views out above the treetops to the surrounding vistas.
There are other experiences worth trying - the Turkish steam bath with its beautiful tiling, the cave pool, the ice cave, as well as traditional dry and wet saunas.
If you need a break, there are lovely relaxation areas where you can lie on a couch or beach chair. Take a book and chill out!
You can also book services such as massage and spa treatments, which cost a little extra.
The cafe is great for coffee, healthy snacks or lunch. The very tame birds (including ducks) will be happy to share with you.
You'll leave feeling very relaxed - perfect for a post sport recuperation, or just to spoil yourself."

Highly recommend an evening visit for anyone looking for a quiet, romantic, and rejuvenating experience."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
To make the most of your family visit, consider booking an early morning session to enjoy the pools before they become too crowded. Bringing your own towels and robes can help manage costs. If you're looking for a more relaxed experience, the Spa Dreaming Centre is strictly for those aged 16 and over, providing a quieter alternative for adults.
💑 Couples & Romantic Getaways
Consider booking a private bathing experience or a pavilion for ultimate seclusion. Evening visits, especially during the late-night sessions, provide a magical ambiance with moonlit bathing and cooler temperatures, ideal for a romantic date.
🧘 Solo Travelers Seeking Relaxation
To maximize your solo experience, aim for weekday mornings or late-night sessions to avoid crowds and enjoy a more peaceful soak. The Spa Dreaming Centre is also a great option for solo visitors seeking a quieter environment.
💰 Budget-Conscious Visitors
Opting for general bathing access without additional packages is the most economical choice. Bringing your own towel and robe will save on rental fees. Visiting during off-peak times, such as weekday mornings or late-night specials, can also offer better value.

Navigating the Pools: A Guide to Bathing Experiences
Don't miss the iconic hilltop thermal pool, which provides breathtaking panoramic views of the Mornington Peninsula, especially stunning at sunrise or sunset. For those seeking unique sensations, the cave pool and the Turkish steam bath offer distinct atmospheric bathing. Remember to explore the cooler plunge pools and saunas for a complete thermal circuit.
When visiting, especially during peak times, be prepared for crowds. Redditors suggest that the Spa Dreaming Centre is significantly less crowded than the general bathing area. If you're visiting with family, utilize the designated family-friendly zones to ensure everyone has a good time.
Maximizing Your Visit: Tips for a Relaxing Day
Consider visiting on a weekday rather than a weekend or during school holidays, as this significantly reduces the number of people. If a weekday isn't possible, the late-night bathing specials offer a magical atmosphere with fewer people and a cooler breeze, making the hot water more enjoyable.
Remember to bring your own towel and robe to save on rental fees. Staying hydrated is also crucial, as the warm waters can be dehydrating. If you're looking for ultimate tranquility, booking a private pavilion or a spa treatment can elevate your experience, though these come at a premium.
Deals, Packages, and Value for Money
The 'Dine & Bathe' packages are popular, combining hot spring access with a meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). While these offer convenience and a more complete experience, assess if the cost aligns with your budget and dining preferences. Some visitors find the general bathing access sufficient and prefer to purchase food separately from the cafe.
For those seeking a more exclusive experience, the Spa Dreaming Centre access is often bundled into higher-tier packages. While more expensive, many find the added tranquility and adult-only environment worth the investment, especially if seeking a romantic getaway or a peaceful solo retreat.
