Mt tamborine over crowded, lack of good food, tourist trap

Just wanted to say how disappointed i was at the lack of unique diners and shops that was available at mt tamborine. Just a bunch of late 90’s style boho shops usual crystal and dream catcher shops. Mid effort tier restaurants and cafes which sell nothing but pizza and eggs on…

Visitors find the Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre to be an interesting and affordable glimpse into the region's colonial past, with original buildings and pioneer memorabilia. While some exhibits are described as 'tired,' the welcoming volunteers and low entry fee make it a worthwhile stop for history enthusiasts. It's best visited on a Sunday, with no onsite food facilities.

"This is such an interesting place. Shows the growth of mount tambourine from its humble beginnings highly recommend a visit if you are up in the mountains"

John James

"This small museum is only open on a Sunday, 10am till 3. It's not worth going out of your way to visit but it's worth a look in if you're passing.
Run and developed by volunteers the museum showcases life in the Tamborine area. Most of the buildings are original and have been moved to and re-erected on site.
Amongst others there is a school, milking parlour, shop, agricultural
store, blacksmiths and homestead but all are small.
Our visited lasted over an hour but others with children were round the site in 15 minutes.
Entrance fees are minimal. There is no cafe on site."

Jocelyn Twose

"Here is a great collection of memorabilia from the past Some of which has direct connection to the mountains past. Other items have been donated by people connected with the early pioneers . There’s a real spirit of adventure captured by those trailblazer community
Some would not be popular in today outlook as they simply came to chop down the giant trees for timber The museum s exhibit s are a bit tired and many items are in a worn state needing tender care. It needs to be said this is completely a labour of love for the volunteers who keep the place open albeit just Sunday s 10 am to 3 pm I think it’s a wonderful effort to keep our past before us"
