What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Nxai Pan National Park offers a spectacular, albeit challenging, wilderness experience. Visitors rave about the incredible wildlife encounters, particularly elephants at the campsites, and the breathtaking sunsets over the salt pans. However, the deep sand tracks can be very demanding on vehicles, and some find the park's remote nature and driving conditions disappointing if not adequately prepared.
"Give it a miss. Rude gate staff, miles of sand driving and only one water hole with water in August. We saw giraffes, elephants and zebra. Park looks run down and the roads are terrible. Baines baobabs are nice, but not worth the money or drive. VERY disappointing experience."
Andrew Martin
"It took almost two and a half hours from the park entrance on A3 to get to the Baines Baobab Trees. The drive is mostly on deep sand tracks, the trees were huge in diameter but not too tall. I don’t think they are bigger than the redwoods in California but still interesting to see. Whether it is worth that long drive or not really depends. I didn’t think so, but my traveling companion seemed to think otherwise."
Clement Chan
"We spent 3 nights in the park and enjoyed every moment. We were the only people at the south camp. Clean and looked after ablutions, private and spacious camp sites, lots of wildlife.
We visited in February. The roads are easy manageable with well prepared 4*4. We were lucky to watch pride of lions every day, families of bat-eared foxes, zebras, elephants, impalas and many more animals.
Can’t wait to come back."
