Reviews Summary
ATB Place offers a mixed bag of experiences. While it's a vibrant hub for art exhibitions and community events, some visitors report significant issues with weekend access, unpleasant odors, and overly strict security. The building's potential is high, but weekend operations seem to detract from the overall visitor experience for some.
"My niece was an invited speaker in commemoration of Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women (& Boys) held on May 5th of every year. This gathering was hosted by the Provincial Indigenous Relations office."

"Going to this building on Sundays is a nightmare!! It seems the entrance on weekends smells something awful!! Dare I say, that they pump in through the central air a putrid garbage smell as a deterrent for homeless or anyone that enters. Also, they intentionally lock the escalators or put up out of service signs on Sundays because the 10 security guards don't want to have to do their jobs or control the flow of traffic. So if you're like me and have to go from the pedways up from LRT, you have to go up stairs from Central outside and then get into the ATB and then go to the far side of building to find stairs or and elevator to get back downstairs. Really ridiculous. Also they do not like to turn on air conditioning, so it can be almost smotheringly humid and hot in the building on the downstairs floors.
If you want tenants or traffic so that your building actually makes money to afford rent or your lease, then maybe make it comfortable for the clients and tenants. Yes there is questionable homeless and vagrants all over Jasper Ave in downtown Edmonton, but there is also businesses and customers that are here working and living too. Have your 10 security guards do a better job patrolling so you don't make the building continuously inhospitable to public."

"My son goes to the daycare in this building. I had to do a work meeting from 12pm-1pm today and if you’ve been here during lunch hour you know it’s a gong show. So I sit myself down in a quiet space near the playground outside my son goes to . A very rude security girl with dark hair slicked back came up to me not to mention did not say excuse me or anything just interrupted my meeting and told me I could not charge my phone there nor could I sit there . I was not bothering anyone I was out of the way in a quiet space . You let homeless and drug addicts hangout all over the place yet a working woman whose son is in daycare can’t have some peace . So I move to the entrance area by the play ground since me quietly sitting there was bothering that security guard so much … she sees me move to the entrance and crouch down to continue my meeting . 10 mins pass by and a Asian security guard now comes to rudely interrupt my meeting . I let him know of the previous security guard and his response is “I can not be sitting “ are you kidding me . First I was CROUCHED down minding my own business away from everyone not being rude yet I can’t even sit . My boss on my work meeting was in shock and baffled by how rude these people were when I was doing nothing wrong . I work for human rights and it’s crazy how these security guards treated me . I’ve never had a problem with anyone and my son has been in the daycare since September. Very disappointed"
