"Long Lake Provincial Park in Halifax is a beautiful winter retreat. In winter, the frozen lakes are perfect for ice skating, while the surrounding trails are ideal for cross-country skiing and winter hikes.
The park is known not only for its natural beauty but also for its rich history. During World War I, military fortifications were set up here to protect the city. It is also traditional land of the Indigenous peoples, who used these waters for fishing and hunting.
With abundant fish in the lakes and a peaceful winter atmosphere, Long Lake is the perfect place to enjoy both nature and history. A true gem for locals and city guests."

"A very interesting hike! The starting point is next to the second-hand market and the course takes about 2 hours. Recommended for new hikers! It is possible to see small waterfalls and streams, observe different plants, there are no existing paths and many times it is necessary to walk on grassy areas with tree roots. Hiking navigation app can be used. Comfortable shoes, light and breathable clothes are recommended (the woods have a lot of humidity), refreshing drinks and energy bars. Enjoy your hike!"
