Reviews Summary
The Dunes at Kamloops is widely praised for its exceptionally well-maintained fairways and greens, offering a challenging yet enjoyable links-style golf experience with beautiful scenic views. While the course conditions are a major highlight, some visitors note issues with bunker quality and a lack of on-course amenities like water stations and a consistent beverage cart.
"Great experience at The Dunes at Kamloops during the 2025 Canadian All Abilities Championship. The course was in phenomenal shape, challenging yet fair, with beautifully maintained fairways and greens that rolled true. The layout is scenic and strategic, making it a joy to play from start to finish.
The staff and volunteers went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and supported throughout the championship. It’s clear The Dunes is more than just a golf course, it’s a community hub that genuinely embraces inclusive sport.
Proud to be competing here, and I’ll absolutely be back. Highly recommend to any golfer looking for a world-class experience in a breathtaking setting."

"Played the course with my wife on Thursday as we passed through on our way home.
This course is a golfers golf course. Tough, yet playable. I’ve not played a course in better condition in ages. The grounds crew should be proud. Well cut rough and perfect fairways My experience in the sand, while not overly frequent (thankfully) was that the condition of the sand was fine and playable.
Beware! There are lots of bunkers.
After a few moments of rain the day turned out to be perfect for an early day round.
I have two observations.
A) there are no water stations to fill up a water bottle anywhere. We played/walked early in the day and it was cloudy for the most part. I can’t imagine playing the course on a bright sunny hot day without a place to get water
B) while the dunes style hills make for a big walk if you’re not accurate and hit the fairways, the course is walkable. However the rental pull carts leave something to be desired. Pretty old basic style with no baskets or cup holders. My wife’s needed some grease for the squeaky wheels. Might be time to invest in some new carts that promote a walking culture and are easy to push and are worth renting because they have space for extra balls, scorecards, cup holders and umbrellas for shade.
Just a few slight knocks on an otherwise great round of golf at a course in great condition. Worth trying"

"This is a links course. There is sand but there are many many, too many hills. Over achieved on design. Course is not amateur friendly. Did I say sand? No it's road base at best. Like hitting off a forestry road. So, can't give 4 stars and it's light years from 5 stars. Seriously, the Big Horn is a much better course."
