Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Craigleith Provincial Park for its stunning Georgian Bay waterfront, unique shale shoreline perfect for fossil hunting, and convenient location near Blue Mountain. The park offers family-friendly activities and good facilities, though some campers note noise from Highway 26 and a lack of privacy on certain sites.

"The provincial park is a perfect camping spot with lots of lakeshore camping sites. The lakeshore facing camping sites makes it a worthy one. The place does not have hiking trails but you can stay over there and explore -Collingwood, Nottawasaga bluffs and blue mountain area. If you are cycling enthusiast, Georgian trail might interest you.
We camped there for 2 nights and the weather was not in favor of us this time. Never the less, we enjoyed a the scenic lake view.
Best seasons to visit is obviously summer months and like any other camping sites, it gets cold and chilly during non summer seasons. For non summer months, gear up with good winter clothing. Provincial park has small kids playground and there pet friendly areas.
Also, lakeshore beach is a rocky one and does not have sand beach.
The staff at the camp office are very friendly and supportive."

"I recently spent a weekend at Craigleith Provincial Park, and it was an excellent getaway! The park is beautifully located right on the shore of Georgian Bay, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. I loved exploring the unique shale rock formations along the shoreline—perfect for a bit of adventure and some great photos.

The campground was clean and well-maintained, with plenty of sites to choose from. Some spots were closer to the highway and a bit noisy, but overall it was very comfortable, especially with access to showers and flush toilets. Water activities like kayaking and paddleboarding on the calm bay were a highlight of my trip.

I also enjoyed learning about the local history, especially the remnants of the old shale oil works and the story of the Mary Ward shipwreck. Plus, being close to Blue Mountain and the nearby towns made it easy to explore more of the area.

All in all, Craigleith Provincial Park is a perfect spot for a nature-filled weekend—whether you’re into camping, hiking, or just relaxing by the water. I’d definitely visit again!"

"Beautiful camping sites with gorgeous shoreline and access to the water. They offer a lot of interactive family friend activities like bird spotting and plant identification. My only complaint is the wood they sell is no good.

The restrooms and shower are are well-kept which is a big deal for me."
