Spotted on the trail between Thetis Lake and Mt. Work. Probably my favourite "urban" hike that I've done in Victoria.

Allow Extra Time

New mountain bike trails mean more paths. Signage can be confusing, so budget for getting a little lost. :compass:

Consider the Skywalk

If you want a great view without the strenuous hike, Malahat Skywalk is an alternative. :mountain_cableway:

Reviews Summary

Mount Work Regional Park is praised for its great trails, especially for mountain biking, and offers a good workout for hikers with rewarding summit views. However, visitors often find the trail signage confusing due to the extensive network, and the lack of breeze in wooded areas can make midday hikes uncomfortable.

"This is a moderately difficult hike. Do it early in the morning as at Noon you will be suffocating as there is no breeze in the heavily wooded area leading up.

It is 5 n half kilometers with a 1000 ft elevation gain. It can get pretty steep at times. Brings TONS of water.

The view is nice, but you can get a better view at the Malahat Skywalk if your not in the best shape and don't think your capable of doing this hike."

Drita D'Alessandro

"The go-to park around these parts. Great mountain biking on one side, fantastic hikes on the other. Make sure you visit Durance lake."

Michael Meehan

"They've totally transformed this hike to include a million new trails for mountain bikes. It was awesome, but the signage made zero sense and we had absolutely no idea where we were going the entire time. Gorgeous hike, but give yourself a lot of extra time."
