I want to take my nephew for fishing near Oshawa. I can drive, so can go further out if need be. Looking to teach him how to cast etc. Just been out fishing at Lake Simcoe and have no idea about fishing nearby. Any suggestions? Good spots?

I just moved out here not too long ago and see many people fishing in Oshawa Harbor, I watch for a bit but never seen anyone actually catch anything. I'd love to go out and try as well. What kind of fish have you caught? Is it worth a day?

Go down to the very bottom of Simcoe Street to the beach. There is a long pier. I've also seen people fishing about 1KM before the beach along the river also on Simcoe St.
