What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kilcona Park is widely praised as a wonderful spot for dog owners and families, offering both off-leash freedom and scenic on-leash trails. Visitors appreciate the friendly atmosphere and the park's natural beauty, especially the winter frost. However, concerns exist regarding the water quality and the impact of recent park developments on the trails.
"The doggy park is such a great place for dog lovers to go to let their pups run loose and enjoy a nature walk within the city limits. I find most ppl and doggies are respectful & haven't had any problems with my 2 little ones.
The sad part is that the city of Wpg has decided to put a road right thru the off leash area, essentially screwing up the nature trails and not allowing ppl and dogs to have a variety of paths to choose from. They say it's to encourage more ppl to use the park but I go 5 times a week and the parking lot is always virtually full. Plus I've seen lots of ppl playing cricket at the baseball diamond and using the disc golf areas so I'm unsure why they think disturbing a landfill to build a road when there are already lots of park users is a good idea..."

"This park is a gem of the north west corner of Winnipeg! Lots of route options to tailor your walk length. People and dogs we meet with our puppy are always so friendly and welcoming. This isn't just our dog's favourite park to visit, it's ours too!
The one draw back is that the water isn't safe for swimming or drinking. However, it adds a real beauty to the walk!"

"Such a great park. Area for off leash but great path for on leash too. My dog loves it here."
