I visited Easter island in 22 for 28 amazing days. I went primarily to explore the ruins under and surrounding the Moai. What I found was so much more. I’d love to start discussions and answer any questions about the island, it’s culture and heritage along with other knowledgeable individuals.
This was the only other Ahu that closely resembles that of Ahu Vinapu. This is Ahu Te Peu

The large number and variety of artefacts makes the site well worth visiting."

Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good grip as the ground can be very muddy and slippery inside the lava tubes. Lightweight, breathable clothing is recommended due to the enclosed environment.
While many visitors explore the caves, it's recommended to go with a guide or at least inform someone of your plans. The terrain can be uneven and dark, making a flashlight essential.
Allow at least 1-2 hours to explore Ahu Te Peu and the surrounding settlement ruins. If you plan to explore the caves at Ana Te Pahu as well, add another hour or more.
Facilities are generally very limited at archaeological sites on Easter Island. Restrooms are unlikely to be available directly at Ahu Te Peu. Wi-Fi is also extremely scarce across the island.
