"I used this station to take the round trip tourist train to cathedral salt mine. Wow, worth every peso! First you get to tour a nice collection of vintage police vehicles including a Ferrari and horse drawn prisoner transport carriage. The two hour ride each way takes you through the heart of Bogota and you get to see the good and bad. The locals loves the tourist train and stop to wave and take videos since it only operates on the weekend. Live music on the train plays traditional Colombian music. You will be offered food and drinks for purchase on the train including beer. You will not regret this trip."

"Good place"

"The area around the station is very dangerous. I recommend having good transportation on hand. If you're coming back by train, book a car in advance so you don't have to wander around the area. There's also an abandoned building next door; I really should do something about that. But the trip was very good. The only thing is that they should change the schedule; they leave very late and pick up very early, so we really didn't get much done. They leave at 8:00 a.m. and we arrive in Zipaquirá around 10:30 a.m., and from there they leave at 3:00 p.m.; there's really not much time to do anything. My recommendation is to buy one for one trip; on the way back, the bus is better. If you go and you're stuck by a sunny window, cover up with a jacket, because everything gets in, and you'll get burned and roasted."
