What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Salsa Brava is celebrated for its incredible beachfront dining, creative cocktails, and welcoming atmosphere, making it a top spot in Puerto Viejo. While the surf break is legendary for experts, the relaxed vibes, delicious food, and friendly service appeal to everyone. Some find the tacos a bit small, but the overall experience is highly recommended.
"The staff here are awesome! We came by for breakfast and coffee one day and Ardie was our waiter. He was fabulous! He made my special request coffee and was happy to talk to us about the local wildlife and culture. We came back our last morning while in the area before they even opened and he recognized us as we walked by. He once again took my special request coffee order. Ardie was happy to give us a few suggestions of local things to do our last day and once again spoke to us about other local wildlife we were interested in. He was very attentive even though I only ordered coffee. We’d ordered eggs our first day here. One of us added avocado and we highly recommend doing so as the order with avocado was excellent. The bread was also very good.
Last night, we wanted to walk the beach and the staff invited us right in and said we could take a seat even if we didn’t order anything. We of course ordered dinner on our way back through after a night stroll on the beach. The nachos were excellent. Very different, but so good!"

"Don't even think about it - Just come in and eat here!! We had the cauliflower wings and the "vicken" Carribbean stew. The texture of the cauliflower wings was on point and the flavour of the stew made it one of my favourite meals in Costa Rica. It is pricey here, since it's right in the middle of town but the food and fantastic views more than make up for it."

"Best place at the beach in Puerto Vijejo.
I was looking for a place at the beach. Nice atmosphere and good music (not loud and annoying). I had awesome sundowner, a very good Aperol Spritz (given it’s not EU) and DIEGO made me feel very welcome. Highly recommend this place!"
