What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Automotodrom Grobnik is a highly-rated track, especially for motorcyclists, praised for its flowing layout, high-grip asphalt, and challenging yet rewarding nature. While some visitors note the remote location and specific facility limitations like power outlets and fuel regulations, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many planning to return.
"Fantastic safe and pleasant! Safety is number 1 here. Amazing test of driving skills on the limit."

"This Track is not so well known. I must say, I myself didn't know abut it, until a friend told me, to join him on a track day, that lasted for two days during Easter holidays 2023.
The track is an absolute blast! It is a motorcyclists dream!
The layout of the track is simply said, curve after curve, but rythm is flowing and the corners are almost all symmetrical.
Also every corner has positive banking and the asphalt is great. The grip level is very high. This is one of the tracks, where SSP bikes can be faster than SBK bikes.
Some turns are hidden behind crests, so you don't see behind T6 and T13 and both a dangerous, because if you make a mistake in these, you can end up very fast outside the track. But that's part of the charm of this track.
In some parts the barriers are quite close and there are not many gravel zones. But nothing like road racing circuits. :)
The boxes are quite spacious, but be aware, there are no standard 230V sockets in the boxes. You will need an caravan adapter to 230V.
The restaurants look kinda scary on the first look. But the food is really delicious and the waiters are very friendly and you will have your food in record time.
The marshals were also very quick with bringing the bikes from the track.
But there are a few negative points.
The place where the track is situated looks like the end of the world. That's great for noise limits, but getting there without a car will be a problem.
With car, you are on the track in aprox. 20 minutes from Grobnik. You go on the highway and the positive thing is, that the exit from the highway to the track is just before the toll booths.
Another negative thing is, that it can get quite windy on the track and the winds are so strong, that it is very demanding for a motorcycle rider.
The biggest PROBLEM is the absence of a gas station on the track in connection with a very stupid croatian law, that you aren't allowed to have any fuel in a canister in your car. That makes it quite challenging to get fuel for your bike.
But there are a lot of gas stations around (on the highway and in Grobnik) with premium 100 octane.
All in all a great experience which I think I will repeat. :)"

The Grobnik Track Experience
However, the track is not without its challenges. Certain corners, like T6 and T13, are blind due to crests, demanding heightened rider awareness and precision. The proximity of barriers in some sections and the limited gravel run-off areas mean that mistakes can have swift consequences. Additionally, the location's remoteness contributes to significant wind, which can add an extra layer of difficulty for riders, especially on two wheels.
Despite these challenges, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive. The track offers a unique and thrilling environment for both experienced riders and those looking to improve their skills through specialized training. The combination of a well-designed circuit and the natural elements creates a memorable and demanding experience.
Practicalities for Visitors
Fueling is another significant consideration. Croatian law restricts the transport of fuel in canisters, which can make refueling a motorcycle challenging. It's advisable to plan your fuel stops meticulously, utilizing the gas stations available on the highway or in the nearby town of Grobnik. Premium 100 octane fuel is readily available at these locations.
Finally, while the on-site restaurant might not win awards for its appearance, it serves delicious food with friendly and efficient service, making it a convenient option for meals during your visit. The marshals are also noted for their promptness in clearing the track when needed.
