What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking panoramic views from Zugspitze, calling it a 'highlight' and 'worthwhile experience' despite the high ticket prices. The modern cable car and the unique feeling of standing on Germany's highest peak are major draws. However, the cost is a recurring point of concern, and clear weather is absolutely essential for a satisfying visit.
"Some of the most picturesque views I've had the chance to see. Plus, a wholly unexpected chance to actually climb to the summit. The safety features during the climb are nonexistent, just a metal rail to hold as you figure out where to put your feet so you're really on your own but it's very doable. Highly recommend."

"The ride, although on the expensive side, is surely breathtaking. Fast and efficient way to get to the summit of the highest pick in Germany.
No actual line at the ticket office , you come and can go on the very next gondola up. Might be a little wait to go down, but it's not long.
Do not forget to bring your parking ticket with you, they will give you 10 euros discount at the ticket office.
Definitely try to go early, as even in a good weather the views will start to be obstructed by the clouds in the afternoon.
I suggest to bring a sweater, as it's pretty windy on the summit."

"We went on the weekend, and it was very crowded. We took the Seilbahn from the top of the mountain down to Eibsee Lake and stood in the middle, so we could barely see anything. It was also a bit scary because of how many people were in the cable car. I’d recommend waiting a bit longer for a less crowded ride, so you can really enjoy the experience and the views from the cable car."
