The Hamburg Dungeon offers a theatrical and immersive dive into the city’s darker history. The set design and actors are impressive, and the whole show lasts about one hour, which feels just right.
However, there are a few things to be aware of:
👥 The staff at the entrance weren’t very friendly, which was a disappointing start.
💸 The ticket price felt a bit too high for what you get.
🎁 You can visit for free on your birthday, but only if you book your ticket online in advance — don’t forget that!
📸 There’s a souvenir photo option: €2 for a basic download via QR code, and €7 for extra photos with fun effects.
⚠️ Important: All performances are in German, and the actors speak very fast. If you’re not fluent, you’ll miss most of the jokes and context — so I wouldn’t really recommend it for non-German speakers.
