What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews blend admiration for the organ, spire, and serene interior with notes that interior access can be limited and the interior itself isn’t overly elaborate. The setting near Speicherstadt adds to the experience, making it feel atmospheric rather than flashy.
"Such a cool church, modern art sculptures and paintings. So random but a great distraction until the pubs opened!"
Michael Arthur
"One of the five most important churches in Hamburg. The spire is one of the most beautiful in town. Unfortunately it wasn't opened for visitors, only pre-booked guided visit was available. The interior is not very spectacular, only the stained glasses and the organ are distinguished. Across the street you can find 'Speicherstadt" ,the warehouses district, now transformed into an interesting area of offices buildings and residential area."
Paul Ciprian
"Thank god this spectacular organ was spared during the bombing of Hamburg. Stunning church with its magnificence in its simplicity: white washed walls, brick floors, stunning timber organ. Lovely to visit and close to so many other amazing attractions in Hamburg"
