Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Fernsehturm Stuttgart for its breathtaking panoramic views and its historical significance as the world's first TV tower. The quick elevator ride and the opportunity to witness sunset from above are frequently highlighted as magical experiences. Some minor critiques mention slow service at the cafe.

"A striking feat of engineering and a symbol of post-war innovation in Germany. Completed in 1956, it was the world’s first television tower built using reinforced concrete; an architectural model that inspired towers worldwide, including those in Toronto and Johannesburg.

Standing 217 meters tall, the tower offers panoramic views of Stuttgart, the Neckar Valley, and even the distant Alps on clear days. A high-speed elevator takes you to the observation deck, where the city unfolds in all directions.

Informative displays at the base explain its construction and global significance, making it more than just a lookout, it's a monument to modernist vision. Whether you're an architecture buff, a history lover, or just chasing the view, the Stuttgart TV Tower delivers a sky-high experience with substance."

E Scott Parks

"Was actually a very nice experience. I went on a late Sunday night, everything was closed so decided to give the tower a chance.

The views were great up there and the staff very friendly. To go up there is some info that you can read and the elevator was very smooth.

Supposedly there is also a cafe up there. Since was Sunday it was closed."

Ricardo Ferraz

"The TV tower in Stuttgart is an impressive landmark and well worth a visit. It is included in the Stuttgart card, and there is also free parking right at the site which makes the visit easy. The ticket office doubles as a small souvenir shop with many interesting items, adding to the sense of arrival. Going up just before sunset proved to be a magical choice, as the city and surrounding hills slowly changed colour with the fading light. The panorama from the top is wide and striking, stretching far across the region. It is one of those places where the timing of your visit makes a big difference, and sunset truly enhances the experience."
