Winter is a great time to visit your local museum for natural history! My top recommendations to see Holzmaden fossils: 1) @naturkundemuseumstuttgart am Löwentor in Stuttgart. 2) @urweltmuseumhauff in Holzmaden (this video was made there). 3) @werkforum_dotternhausen near Balingen and Rottweil. 4) The Paleontological collection of the University of Tübingen (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm). Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Museum am Löwentor for its engaging displays of dinosaurs and fossils, making it a hit with families. However, some find the museum's layout confusing and the web app unreliable. The German-only descriptions can also be a challenge, though an audio guide is available.

"they did a fantastic job. You can clearly see the story of how life evolved, presented in an engaging way.

However, I noticed that many visitors seemed to get lost along the way, as the layout is not very clear or concrete. The web app also malfunctioned frequently, requiring me to reload it several times, and some stations lacked numbers for the audio guide. Despite these issues, the audio guide was still far better than those I’ve encountered in other museums."

"The State Museum of Natural History at Stuttgart is a unique collection of several hundreds of dinosaurs, fossils, vertebrates, plants, insects, pre-historic humans etc and is one of the most important repositories for natural collections. Housed in three floors, it is also a great place for kids to watch and enjoy. Tickets are @5/3 Euros for adults/seniors and no charges for kids. There is a Cafeteria for snacks, beverages and ice creams. A shop inside offers soft and hard toys of animals for sale. The staff are helpful and great. It is great place to spend the day with family and children."

"A great place to meet all the Dinos and fossils.
We had a spontaneous visit as a family with two boys and everyone enjoyed it a lot.
There is a restaurant directly at entrance.
If you visit on cold seasons we recommend to leave your jacket downstairs next to toilets on the hangers or lockers.
You can spend a good 90- 120 minutes there.
It is a good mixture of learning/ playing and adventure"
