What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Hydra Harbor's unparalleled picturesque beauty and vibrant atmosphere, calling it one of Europe's best harbors. The car-free charm, stunning architecture, and breathtaking sunsets are major draws. However, some find the harbor itself a bit crowded with boats, and the donkey transport, while unique, can be a point of contention for animal welfare concerns.
"This is my second time here. By far, this is the most beautiful place on earth. All jokes aside, I have never felt more in love with a single place on earth. It is a wonderful feeling to feel I have been to the single most amazing place known to man."

"Three stars only for its functionality. It’s a small port with too many boats, sea taxis, excursion vessels to the beaches, anchors and chains often getting tangled, sailing yachts and motorboats all mixed together. But five stars for the atmosphere – a truly picturesque place with stunning views, great bars, restaurants, pastry shops, tavernas, beach bars, everything you could ask for. One of the best harbors for tourism – if not worldwide, at least in Europe, and certainly in Greece"

"Preety lovely ... vibrant... All blue white gold... Lots of nice shops .. unique jewellery makers, art, holiday island clothes all you need and all extreemly preety... busy but not over crowded .. went for some food and dip at the sea... lovely day trip.... There are nice yachts and large boats from Athens... Only sad was to see donkeys working hard at this weather ..."
