National Museum of Greenland, 6/22/2025

Pretty small for anyone used to big museums in a city. That being said, the stuff inside was very unique and interesting to Greenlandic culture. The highlight to me was the gorgeous traditional Inuit clothing right at the front of the museum tour. The boats and mummies also…

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Qilakitsoq Site museum for its extensive collection and insightful portrayal of Greenland's history and Inuit culture, with the mummies being a standout attraction. While the organization is good, some exhibits lack English translations, which can be a drawback for international visitors. The museum is considered a worthwhile stop for anyone interested in learning about the region's past.

"There is a LOT to see 👀 here. It does a very good job of explaining Greenland's history. The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because on the glass protecting the exhibits, they have explanations in Greenlandic but not English. There are other walls 🧱 that are duo-lingual Greenlandic and English. One of the most interesting things you'll see 👀 here are mummies. They have 4 of them - 3 women and a baby 👶 (see picture 📸). Overall, I was very pleased with this museum and was glad my tour stopped here."

"We had the fortunate to come to Greenland and we decided to try this museum. I must say it is a very interesting well organized museum and worth your time to go and learn a little bit more about the building lifestyles and distinctions and the most interesting thing they have mummies of a family of women and a babyeverybody at the front desk was very nice. It cost $16 per person."

harriet miller

"A place where you learn a lot about the history of the different groups of people across the time that were living at the place that we now call Greenland.
Reserve about 2-3 hours of your time, as the museum is huge and very interesting, especially if you tend to read all available information on the boards."
