What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden for their profound tranquility and stunning traditional architecture. Many highlight the free admission and the peaceful escape from the city's bustle. Some note that it can get crowded, especially during peak hours, and recommend visiting early for the best experience.
"Huge place. Quiet and serene. A lot of beautiful statues but unfortunately no photography allowed inside"
Daniel Lee
"The Chi Lin Nunnery is connected to the Nan Lian Garden with a bridge over the road, making the two destinations perfect to combine. Together you can probably spend about an hour, but the nunnery is not too large.
The location is in perfect state, super clean and looks as good as new, thus it does not really have an ancient vibe you might expect. The small ponds in the middle are beautiful with the lily pads in them. The main hall has several large Buddha statues."
Daan de Groot
"What a beautiful escape in the middle of a bustling city! The bonsai trees and stones surrounding the temple are beautiful and the Lilly ponds full of such variety. Walking thru the temple with its dark wood structure brings forth elegance and blends with the nature around it. This is a perfect segway into the gardens adjacent when you leave."
