"Ram Jhula is a modern cable-stayed railway overbridge in Nagpur, Maharashtra, located just north of Nagpur Junction railway station. Stretching 606.74 meters, it features two parallel three-lane bridges, totaling six lanes, and was built to replace a deteriorating British-era bridge from 1927. By the late 20th century, the old bridge, limited to light vehicles, couldn’t handle the city’s growing traffic. In 2006, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation began constructing a new six-lane, cable-stayed bridge, named Ram Jhula. The project kicked off in 2006, with the first phase opening around 2015 and the full structure completed later, despite delays from coordination issues between MSRDC and MahaMetro. The eastern bridge uniquely carries the Nagpur Metro’s Blue Line down its center, merging road and metro traffic. Its 100+ cables and nighttime lighting make it a standout feature, easing the flow over a station handling 140+ trains daily.

Spanning 606.74 meters, the modern structure, finished post-2015, reflects Nagpur’s urban evolution and engineering progress."

"Ram Jhula in Nagpur is an impressive piece of infrastructure that greatly enhances connectivity in the city. This bridge not only facilitates the smooth flow of traffic but also offers stunning views of the surrounding areas. It's especially beautiful in the evenings when the lights illuminate the structure, creating a picturesque scene. The well-maintained pathways and clean surroundings make it a pleasant spot for pedestrians as well. However, it can get a bit crowded during peak hours. Overall, Ram Jhula is a notable landmark in Nagpur that serves both practical and aesthetic purposes."
