"Narwar Fort is a historical fort situated atop a hill in the Narwar town of Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, India. The fort is perched at an elevation of about 500 feet above the town and is known for its splendid architecture and rich history. Said to be related to the legend of Raja Nal of the Hindu epic Mahabharata, the fort was later under various dynasties, including the Kachwaha Rajputs and the Marathas. This fort exemplifies a mix of Rajput and Muslim architectural styles resulting from the numerous modifications over centuries. Inside, one can find flat ceilings, multifoiled arches, and intricately carved pillars. It has three large gates “ the Hathi Pol, the Badalgarh Gate, and the Nal Darwaza. Despite being in a state of ruin, Narwar Fort still conveys a sense of grandeur and provides a panoramic view of the town and surrounding countryside. It has numerous palaces and temples within its premises, including the Raja Mansingh Palace, which is the most notable structure."

"It's an amazing place suffering due to lack of maintenance. There are barely any signs to direct you, animal droppings make this place stink like anything and there is no store nearby, add to it a few locals use it as a spot to drink.
So much of history, culture and architecture rendered useless.
But if you're a ruin buff like me who wishes to visit this place, I'd suggest reach early at 9 when fort opens as it'd take whole day to explore, bring your own food and water (but don't litter, please) and read about this place in advance because the plaques there would give you nothing."
