Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Tribal Museum Muthorai to be a captivating glimpse into indigenous cultures, with well-maintained tribal hut replicas and interesting artifacts. However, the challenging approach road and limited staff explanations are frequently mentioned drawbacks. The on-site craft shop offers unique items, though some find them pricey.
"Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of the Nilgiris in Tamil Nadu, the tribal museum exudes a unique charm that reflects the rich cultural tapestry of the region. This hidden gem, enveloped by lush greenery and mist-kissed hills, offers a captivating glimpse into the traditions and lifestyle of the indigenous tribes. The building is well maintained & has two floors. The huts with different tribe cultures are captivating. They do sell local tribal artifacts & souvenirs. There is a ticket of Rs.50 for adults. You can take a car to the gate.
Note: The approach road is very narrow & is of stone. There is a small parking area. The washrooms are small outside the building & are not that clean."
