What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Nilavoor Lake's viewpoint is praised for its breathtaking panoramic vistas and the magical sunrise experience, making the short trek worthwhile. Visitors appreciate the natural beauty and the opportunity to sample local produce. However, the access road can be rough, and some find the local produce prices to be high.
"During early 2000 there was a man made lake in which boating was done which is adjacent to the amman temple. Now it is discontinued. If you go little ahead in a concrete road a km or so your car will go upto the base of Nilavoor view point. Earlier they used to do paragliding which is discontinued now. The view point is three prong valley view nilavaoor view and jalagamparai falls view. The entry ticket is 15. All the three views are soul satisfying with kissing clouds on your face fresh oxygen to your nostrils. Absolutely easy one with way to go up and come down systematically. The path to the entrance is bit rough and needs to be set right. You really get local produce here but in the name of local organic they are looting at Rs.200 per kg any millet. Even in city metros they are not that costly. You get traditional herbal mudavattukkal soup here. It is bit watery but okay for the thirsty throat after the visit to nilavoor cliff point."

"Good View point at Yelagiri ...though they charge Rs.50 per person, the pathway after the ticketing area is maintained good. It's a small trek to the view point, so it gives a good experience of climbing up a very short hill. It's good experience overall."

"We have visited Yelagiri Hill View Point last Saturday.
It was a great experience. The road towards the View Point is not that great. You have to go via village road and then some off-road.
We have visited this place as part of our XUV300 Owners Meetup.
Parking space is available. It's free.
Then from parking you need to walk around 1 Km to reach the view point. There's a ticket counter for the same.
You will find local shops selling Tender Coconut, Guava, Pineapple, etc.
It was a great experience with a view and nature."
