Beautiful hike, there are two starting points, one from The Gap of Dunloe and another from Kate Kearney’s Cottage. Previously doing from Kate Kearney’s cottage we decided to do it from the gap this time .. we successfully parked at the gap but I would not advise parking there Preferably park at Kate Kearneys Cottage and walk the gap first before the hill.
A clear day is a must for Purple Mountain. Decent path on the gap side, till the last incline. Whilst if you walking from Kate Kearney side is not so pathed.
