Manage Expectations for a Compact Experience

This museum is small, focusing on Stefano Cardu's private collection of Asian art. Don't expect vast halls; it's more intimate. Plan for a shorter visit, as it's contained within two rooms.

Bathroom Access is Key

A recurring point is the lack of an on-site bathroom. While you might be directed to a nearby museum, be prepared for potential issues with access, as some visitors have reported being turned away.

Be proud of your past . All of us Sardinians have the duty to tell our story to the world, a unique story like few others. Most of the videos were shot in Cagliari, the capital of the island, in the archaeological museum .#sardinia#sardegna#history#ancienthistory#sardinian_history#sardiniatravel#archeology#roma#nuragic#storiaantica#archeologia#edit#belisarius#storia#foryoupage#historian

By far one of my FAVOURITE things I’ve done since being here… How to do this… 🌞Hire scooters from ‘CIA rent in Cagliari’ (used many times, I can recommend) 🌞 (It’s a bit cheaper and less deposit if you have a credit card!) 🌞 Drive out the centre, along poetto and then enjoy the ONE ROAD route which takes you all the way to Villasimius… Where you will find some of the most beautiful beaches like ...

Reviews Summary

Reviews highlight the museum's unique collection of Asian art, a legacy of Stefano Cardu's donation. However, many visitors express disappointment with the museum's small size and, notably, the absence of bathroom facilities, which can detract from the overall experience.

"Don't bother. We returned to the museum district just to visit this "museum." Shockingly, they don't even have a bathroom! They say you can use the one at the archeological museum, but they rudely turned us away (even though we had purchased tickets on a prior day). The two-room exhibition is just ok, not worth the hassle. It's a disgrace to even call this a museum and unbelievable not to coordinate with neighboring museums to provide the most basic of services for paying customers."

Karine Spencer

"The history of the museum starts in 1914 when the collector Stefano Cardu gave to the City of Cagliari part of his collection. Swords, vases, manuscripts, Asian religious statues characterized the museum. Worth a visit."

Simone Giovanni Cardia

"The museum is small, but really nice and with an amazing display of fascinating Thai, Chinese, Japanese and other southern-easter asian treasures, including manuscripts, silver etc. The museum, born from a private collection, worth the visit. Clean and polite guardians."
