What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Castiglione Beach is praised for its stunning beauty, crystal-clear waters, and the excellent service and food at the Lido di Ravello beach club. While the ~100 steps down can be a challenge for some, most visitors find the effort rewarded by the pristine pebble beach and breathtaking coastal views. Some reviewers suggest bringing your own food to supplement the restaurant offerings.
"Really nice place. Do not trust the reviews claiming the stairs are daunting and long, they are just lazy and not used to climbing 50 stairs at once without AC. Stairs take about two minutes and take you to the beach, which has a shower, public and private area. The staff were accommodating and food options were tasty and varied. Mostly locals."

"Pure class....worth €75 for two beds & umbrella.....with showers, changing rooms, water & inflatable to lie in the sea......the beach is pebbles, so bring footware. Crystal clear water & spotless beach.
The beach club has happy staff, and gorgeous food (see my pictures)
Joshua - young waiter was really helpful & all the staff were amazing..... including lifeguard. Beer & wine choice was great & quality.
From 12pm to 6pm we were there, kitchen closes 4pm.
Free public beach either side, bring your towel / inflatable to lie on though.
Spectacular day, stunning views, even the steps down/up are stunning.......100 steps, so take your time."

"Update: OBVIOUSLY this picture was taken AFTER we tried to eat the food. The coca-cola was served with ice and was cold so there was nothing wrong with the DRINK it self. But the food we could sadly not eat efter spending 40 euros on this place.
I never leave reviews but this time I had too. There fore I am saying you should bring your own food and drinks. The location of the restaurant and beach however is very nice."

The Charm of Pebble Beaches
However, the pebble surface means that walking barefoot can be uncomfortable. It's highly recommended to wear water shoes or sturdy sandals to protect your feet, both on the beach and when entering the water. Many visitors find that once they're in the water, the discomfort of the pebbles is forgotten, replaced by the joy of swimming in such pristine conditions.
The pebble composition also means that the beach doesn't get as hot under the sun as sandy beaches can, offering a slightly cooler surface to walk on. It's a natural characteristic that adds to the unique charm of Castiglione Beach and the wider Amalfi Coast.
