"2,291 meters above sea level, it connects the Livigno Valley with Valdidentro and consequently Valtellina.
It is on this pass that the customs and therefore the checkpoint of the Guardia di Finanza are located, because, as is known, the territory of Livigno is a duty-free zone.
From a hydrogeological point of view it is an important step, because it acts as a watershed between the Inn basin (and therefore the Danube and the Black Sea) and the Adda basin (and therefore the Po and the Mediterranean).
It remains open even in the winter season and, being treeless, it is panoramic.
