What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Necropoli Punica Sulky to be a key historical stop, offering a deep dive into Punic and Roman history with well-preserved rock-cut tombs. The site is praised for its accessibility and the engaging nature of its guides, though some mention organizational aspects of the broader Archeotour could be improved. It's considered a valuable experience for understanding the underground world of ancient Sulky.
"NECROPOLIS - A KEY STOP on the Sant'Antioco archaeological tour. The Necropolis, recently made permanently accessible, is the site that delves deepest into history. Here you can see the tombs in their oldest form, which, in other parts of the hill, would later become the Catacombs and Hypogeum Village. To understand the underground world of Sant'Antioco, shared by the living and the dead, the following sites are definitely worth visiting: NECROPOLIS, CATACOMBS, and HYPOGEUM VILLAGE. ✋ Tickets for the NECROPOLIS are purchased at the entrance, and a €10 combined ticket for the entire ARCHEOTOUR can be purchased at the same ticket office (alternatively, tickets can be purchased at the Ethnographic Museum). There is plenty of parking near the Necropolis, so you can easily drive there; all five sites are very close by. Please note that visiting all 5 sites requires a couple of hours. Although the website states that summer closing time is 7:00 PM, last admission is actually at 6:00 PM, so plan ahead accordingly. For the visit to the NECROPOLIS + Acropolis, unlike other sites where they handed us a folder to read (sigh 😔), we had the pleasure of having a real guide, engaging and knowledgeable. The visit is suitable for everyone; even children and teenagers will find interest and curiosity in this unique ancient world. I thank the guide of the Necropolis - Acropolis who redeemed our rather disappointing Archaeotour from an organizational standpoint. Thank you."

"An interesting archaeological site, with a well-preserved Punic necropolis and rock-cut tombs. Unfortunately, the Acropolis cannot be visited independently, and I didn't see it, as I could only have visited with a rather large school class."

"How wonderful to see a part of Sardinia's and Solky's history open to the public. A lovely tour of the various structures, along with their history and interesting historical facts."
