"Ghost of Tsushima brought me here IRL! The shrines, the windswept rice fields and the ragged coastline look just like they do in the game. The IRL Kojima shrine is just like the Nakajima Shrine in game, but in a slightly different location. I’ve posted the pictures side by side here. I even saw a fox shrine!

The island have numerous of movie-like beaches with clear water and white sand. The trip to Iki Island from Fukuoka is 2 hours with ferry or 1 hour with jetfoil. If you like beaches and need relaxation, i recommend 3-5 days.
By car or scooter it's easy to get around the island. There are busses too, but they don't drive frequently.
The locals don't speak english very well, but with apps it's easy to communicate as a foreigner. I think me and my girlfriend were the only non-japanese people on the island at the time, but we were treatet very good!
