"October 2024
The path from here to the inner sanctuary offers a heartfelt experience that only those who have experienced it can truly understand. Warlords from the Warring States period, who fought for life and death and territory, rest in peace here.
Mount Koya is Buddhist, but regardless of that, I felt a deep love that embraces all, regardless of sect. It's gentle, broad-minded, and unattached to deep attachments.
The entire Mount Koya is home to a huge number of cedar trees, and perhaps due to the unusual weather, cedar pollen is flying around even in autumn, causing me to develop hay fever. I think it's a good idea to bring cedar pollen medicine when you come here.
The leaves are just beginning to change color, but there's still a long way to go."
