"I went there around 5pm on July 2nd. It was very peaceful. A few people were fishing and a few more were just visiting. The walking bridge is another interesting thing about this place. The empress statue is quiet nice too. Moreover, there was an upside down rainbow when I was there."

"Tateiwa as a part of Geo Park : There is a legend of an ancient Emperial prince of Japan regarding this Tachiiwa. According to the story three evil demons called Oni were exterminated by prince Maroko ( Shotoku Taishi in his childhood ) sealed into this rock with his mother ( Hashiudo ). ( Shotoku Taishi ) is the very first Emperor of Japan and the one introduced Buddhist way of life to Japan. Two demons were killed and one was sealed into this rock to show the example for their evel doings. The rock stands as tall as 20 meters formed with basalt. To this day you can hear the sound of demon crying around the rock on windy nights. There is a monumental statues of Empress and the prince next to the beach side of this park offering protection of the sea. The location of this place is west of Byobu Rocks. You can also observe some ancient remains of burial mounds around the coast of this area called Geo Park. There is a road station of Tenki-tenki Tango as well as historical museum of this area nearby. You might want to stop by for some souvenir shopping and some learning experience.
