What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Annupuri Niseko is praised for its friendly staff, excellent breakfast buffets, and convenient ski-in/ski-out access. Guests appreciate the relaxed atmosphere away from the busier Niseko resorts and the rejuvenating onsen facilities. However, some find the rooms to be dated and uncomfortable, with issues like poor temperature control and unpleasant bathroom odors. The limited dining and shopping options directly around the hotel are also noted as a drawback for those seeking variety.
"Location is the end of the road so a bit far for summer activities.
Common areas are species but rooms are clean but warn out with wear and tear. More like motel rooms.Onsen need some work.
Breakfast is great! Really good verity buffet."

"An older hotel that is very comfortable and welcoming. Away from all the noise and distractions at Hirafu, this place is for those who just want to ski and relax. Friendly staff, nice facilities and reasonable prices.
You can rent your equipment there, and ski directly in and out of the hotel - so no need to deal with anything else. The buffet is a great deal, both in the morning and evening, with plenty to choose from. That said, it doesn't appear to change much, so it might be a bit monotonous after a few nights. There isn't much in the way of restaurants or shops near the hotel, so maybe not the best location for people looking for variety. Perfect for people like us, who just want to ski and would rather avoid being part of the "trendier" places."

"Great hotel.
Friendly + helpful staff. Saved my butt when I got stuck in town and couldn’t catch a cab back - they called a cab to come pick me up.
Breakfast is good. Loved the onsen.
Right at the base of the mountain. Convenience store has snacks, alc, winter/skiing and snowboarding gear, souvenirs, basic meds.
Bus routes from the airport and to get between different sections of the mountain all stop here. Worth a stay 🤙"

Understanding Niseko's Four Resorts
Annupuri, where this resort is located, stands out for its more relaxed and tranquil vibe. It's often favored by families and those seeking a quieter Niseko experience. The slopes here tend to be wider and gentler, making them ideal for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Despite its calmer nature, Annupuri still benefits from the incredible snowfall Niseko is famous for, offering plenty of powder days.
While each resort has its own charm, the Niseko United All Mountain Pass allows you to seamlessly travel between all four areas via shuttle bus or ski connections. This provides access to a vast and varied skiable terrain, ensuring there's something for every level of skier and snowboarder.
The Annupuri Ski Experience
Despite its beginner-friendly reputation, Annupuri also offers plenty of opportunities for those seeking powder. The abundant snowfall means that off-piste areas and ungroomed runs can provide fantastic deep snow experiences, especially after a fresh dump. The resort's layout allows for easy access to these areas, and the quieter atmosphere means you're less likely to encounter large crowds when exploring.
Annupuri is also notable for its extended season, often remaining open for skiing and snowboarding well into May. This makes it an attractive destination for spring skiing, where you can enjoy softer snow conditions and longer daylight hours. The resort's ski-in/ski-out accommodation options further enhance the convenience for those who want to maximize their time on the slopes.
Beyond the Slopes: Relaxation and Dining
Dining options in Annupuri are more understated compared to the bustling Hirafu village. Hotels often feature buffet-style restaurants offering a good variety of Japanese and Western dishes for breakfast and dinner. These can be convenient, especially if you're staying on a ski-in/ski-out basis. For a truly unique experience, consider the kamakura (snow igloo) BBQ, which offers a memorable dining adventure amidst the snow.
For those seeking a wider array of culinary choices, the Niseko United shuttle bus provides easy access to the restaurants and bars in Grand Hirafu and Niseko Village. This allows you to sample the diverse gastronomic scene of the Niseko region without having to relocate your accommodation.
