What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the idyllic riverside setting and the exceptional value of the sake tasting, often calling it a must-visit. The affordable prices, especially for the first tasting which includes a souvenir cup, are a major draw. While food service has an earlier cutoff, the overall experience of sipping sake by the flowing river is consistently praised as relaxing and memorable.
"I often come here after hiking in Okutama. Depending on the season they stop selling food around 15:30~16:00 so try to come before then. Their menu changes with the season but you can reliably find soba or udon bowls and local products like meat and tofu. Their amazake is amazing in cooler weather! They have covered outdoor seating so you can enjoy it even in the rain or snow. If you have appropriate footwear, I recommend the walking loop path which connects Sawai to Mitake on either side of the river."

"I visited here as part of a private tour but was not disappointed. There were plenty of tables available (Saturday PM) and there was a lovely atmosphere.
We tried five different types of nihonshu and were not disappointed at all.
A really beautiful place to spend an afternoon"
