What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Universal Studios Japan is a highly-rated park, praised for its incredibly immersive themed lands, particularly Super Nintendo World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Visitors rave about the detailed theming, thrilling rides, and unique dining experiences. However, the high cost of Express Passes and long wait times on busy days are common drawbacks.
"100% worth it! I was really having the best time of my life! All the staff genuinely seemed welcoming and happy to be there. There is this culture where they just wave at any visitors. Just love it! Even though for the Jaws ride, I could not understand what the actor was saying, the facial expressions and body language were top notch and I still understood what he wanted to portray. Besides all the rides which were of course great especially the Flying Dinosaur roller coaster, Jaws, Harry Potter, Spy Family and Mario Kart, there was this concert in the end and boy was it hyped. People were actually dancing and the atmosphere was LIT. They even sprayed water as part of the environment. HAD THE BEST TIME."

"Every theme park isn’t very big, but it’s very well-designed and refined.
Highly recommend Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey — even if you can’t try every attraction, you must play this one!
I went during summer, so I suggest bringing cooling sprays, cooling wet wipes, and an umbrella, as some rides have outdoor queues where it gets really sunny!🌞
If you want to save some money, you can bring your own water bottle — there are places in the park where you can refill it.
Overall, the experience was amazing! There’s even a concert at night. But be aware — they spray water! If you don’t want to get wet, stand further back because the water guns can shoot quite far 🤣.
Some areas of the park may be under maintenance, so it’s a good idea to check in advance if your favorite attractions will be open.
Definitely worth visiting again!
Also, I have to say the staff were all so cheerful and had a great attitude! When you ask for directions, they make sure you know exactly where to go and will even walk with you for a bit. Loved it! 😍

"Had a great time! We woke up really early (6am) to get to the park early, they let us in at 8am. We didn’t have to book tickets for the Nintendo world since we got there very early. I can’t compare since it’s my first big amusement park I’ve gone to, but the rides for a first timer is really good. I just didn’t know we had to book for the toad cafe, which is a shame cause the food looked really good. Amazing day"
