"This is a World Heritage Site in Saga that I have always wanted to visit. I went there during a three-day weekend, and there were no other visitors inside the building. The staff were very kind and gave thorough tours. There are three video theaters inside the building, and all of the movies are very easy to understand and of high quality. They explain why it was built in this location in a way that even an elementary school student could understand. From the observation deck on the third floor, you can get a bird's-eye view of the entire Mietsu Naval Yard."

"Not only was there a very comprehensive explanation, including video, of the remains of the Saga Domain's naval dock from the end of the Edo period, but for around 30 years this was also the site of the Saga Merchant Marine School, and there were photos and explanations of those, as well as a monument in the garden with a list of donors.
The museum staff gave us an excellent, detailed explanation!
Admission was 500 yen per adult including tax, but the observation deck on the third floor was free."

It's a very impressive facility, and even though I asked the guide a question as I was passing by, he gave me a thorough and detailed explanation.
There is a large parking lot at the community center just before the history museum, and the museum itself also has parking for about 10 cars."
