It is like visiting a folk museum, as there are well curated displays of artefacts as well as a stream with fish and sea cucumbers to spot. There is a good atmosphere and little cafes and restaurants dotted about. The staff in the gift shop were very kind as was the person on the ticket office. There is a boat service across the bay to the Shodoshima Olive Park and beach etc."

"You need to pay to visit the site but I think it’s worth it. Very beautiful and relaxing. Some of the time they have tours coming in, so it’s abit crowded. Many place to take photos so if you like taking photo you must go. Many parking outside the site so no need to worry."

"My wife really enjoyed some of the books which were based of some of the movie which were filmed here. If you are a historical japanese movie buff black and white movie etc you may have seen one or two that was filmed here. You can go into every building and see photos and articles from all the old movie. If you don't like old movies maybe not worth the visit"
