"Peaceful hilltop temple. In early October, unfortunately we missed hydrangea garden which was completely closed, and lotus season had passed though you could see the plants in front of the main temple. There is a lovely view over lots of greenery which was just starting to turn yellow, would be lovely in a few weeks when leaves are red.

"I visited in early June 2023 — a great time to see Japan’s hydrangeas in full bloom. Tickets are available at the entrance and they’re pretty affordable. The garden is spacious, filled with blooming flowers, and the ones along the stairs were especially lovely. I had such a nice time here."
