What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests consistently praise Hotel MiraCosta for its incredible location inside Tokyo DisneySea and the convenience of 'Happy Entry' for early park access. The beautifully themed rooms and stunning park views are also major highlights. However, many find the high price point, coupled with extra fees for amenities like the pool and sometimes inconsistent Wi-Fi, to be a significant drawback, suggesting that the value may not always match the cost compared to other hotels.
"The hotel itself is great and the rooms are the Disneyland standard as is the staff. However, the fact that the pool comes with a 4000¥ fee per person is ridiculous in my opinion, as are the opening hours.
You only get the hotel for the early access and the packages which are amazing (3 attractions per park with no waiting line).
Great breakfast as well, clearly labeled allergen options and the staff will help you otherwise.
You can try it if you really like the park but do not expect much in terms of amenities."

"The hotel is fantastic. The rooms were great. The location is tough to beat. Do not expect to check in early, even a minute early. The put on a good show of bowing at 3 pm to initiate the check in process but it comes at the price of efficiency. As I sat watching for some time I learned that the staff/company was more worried about the appearance of customer service rather than actual customer service."

"We stayed at MiraCosta for two nights. The location and Happy Entry are the main benefits, it’s great to walk back to your room after a long day in the park and being able to get into DisneySea 15 minutes early makes a big difference in securing area and ride entry passes. The staff were also very friendly and helpful and the hotel is beautiful inside and out.
The downside is the price, you’re paying for a luxury hotel and DisneySea just isn’t. The rooms were not much better than hotels we stayed at in Japan for a third of the price, you have to pay extra to use the pool and the breakfast was ok but again over-priced. Good to experience it but next time I’d stay at one of the cheaper hotels in the area."

The Magic of Location: Staying Inside DisneySea
Beyond mere convenience, staying inside the park grants you 'Happy Entry,' an exclusive 15-minute head start before the general public. This is crucial for securing coveted entry slots for popular attractions or areas like Fantasy Springs, especially during peak seasons. The ability to get a head start can make a significant difference in experiencing more of what DisneySea has to offer without enduring long queues.
However, this prime location comes at a premium price. While the convenience is undeniable, some reviews suggest that the room quality and amenities might not fully justify the cost compared to off-site hotels, especially when considering additional fees for services like the pool.
Themed Rooms and Views: Immersive Disney Luxury
Many rooms also boast spectacular views of Tokyo DisneySea. Whether you opt for a Harbor View overlooking the Mediterranean Harbor or a Fantasy Springs View, waking up to the sights and sounds of the park is an unforgettable experience. Some guests even report being able to see the 'Sea of Dreams' nighttime spectacular directly from their rooms, adding another layer of magic to their stay.
While these themed rooms and views contribute significantly to the hotel's appeal, they also represent the higher end of the pricing spectrum. Guests should carefully consider which room type best suits their budget and desired experience, as the views and themes can greatly influence the overall cost.
Dining and Amenities: What to Expect
Regarding amenities, the hotel features two swimming pools and a gym. However, it's important to note that the pool access comes with a separate fee, typically around 3000-4000 JPY per person, which some guests find to be a drawback given the hotel's overall cost. While the hotel provides essential services, some reviews suggest that beyond the park access and themed rooms, the additional amenities might not be as extensive as one might expect from a luxury hotel.
