"It is suuch a GREAT place to visit when in CDMX!! Highly recommend it.
Although it is extremely hard to reach.
The cheapest option to get there is to hop on a bus in CDMX and drive to Amecameca, from there you need to take a local taxi (no uber available) up to the entrance.
We just rented an Uber from Mexico City to the entrance and he just waited for us the whole day and drove us back. Of course we gave him a nice amount of money.
The third option is to just rent a car (if you’re brave enough to drive in Mexico City)
From the entrance you can hike up to La Joya at 4000 meters which is a pretty easy hike. From La Joya you are able to hike further up and summit Iztaccihuatl.
BUT!! We didn’t feel really safe hiking.
We were just scared that someone was waiting for us in the bushes. We heard some horror storys.
Just always look back and around you and hike in groups. NOT alone!!"

"It's an amazing place to visit. Great views, panoramic experiences, an incredible weather.
I'm not an expert in this area, so I recommend to check out the instructions from a professional to the ascending walk: be prepared to walk a lot; don't take heavy backpacks.
You'll enjoy a magnificent and mesmerizing encounter with nature."

"Starting point for hiking the national park. Register at the center first where you will find information about the park flora and fauna. Bathrooms in the parking area for 10 pesos."
