Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Centro de Interpretación Uyotot-Ja for its informative exhibits on the Centla wetlands and climate change efforts, as well as the stunning 360-degree views from the watchtower. The opportunity to spot wildlife like crocodiles and birds is a significant draw. However, some note the limited scope of the single trail and the need to confirm opening days, as it's privately managed and not always open as expected. Reddit

"Really great place to visit! You can learn about the Centla wetlands reserve and particularly about Casa del Agua efforts to preserve it and to fight climate change. The best part was the view point where you can have a 360 degrees view of the reserve and the conjunction point of the three rivers. You can also spot crocodiles and some bird species at this place. The cost of entrance is 40 pesos per person. Next to this place you can find a traditional restaurant which also offers tours into the wetlands."

Daniel R. Rocha

"Very informative and the staff of really welcoming! I can highly recommend this place!"

Phillip Zastrow

"It's a beautiful place nestled in the core zone of the Pantanos de Centla Biosphere Reserve, Tabasco. It's independent of CONANP administration; the donation is $55 pesos, which contributes to its conservation. It has four exhibition halls related to the ecological and biotic aspects of the reserve (vegetation, soil, water, fauna, geography, hydrography) and climate change. You can climb the watchtower, 20 meters high; its main function is to monitor forest fires and admire the confluence of three rivers: the Usumacinta, San Pedro, and Grijalva. You can also walk the trail under the shade of mangroves (mainly white and red), ceibas, corchos, macuilis, tinto, among other species, and do wildlife spotting (birds, mammals, and reptiles). It's beautiful; I've visited it twice. Access to the general public is only from Thursday to Sunday."
