What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Kyaukgu U Min as a spectacular, well-worth-it temple off the beaten path, highlighting its unique top-down exploration, intricate sandstone carvings, and serene meditation caves. While some question e-bike suitability, most find it accessible with alternative transport.
"A spectacular temple, well worth getting off the beaten track to visit. Another reviewer said “not suitable with ebike,” but I visited on my ebike with no problem at all. You arrive at the temple’s “roof” then a staircase takes you down the steep hillside to the main entrance. Inside is a huge Buddha, beautiful sandstone carvings, and dozens of niche Buddhas. A walk around behind takes you to caves and meditation cells carved deep into the hillside.
It’s quite a different experience than the more-visited temples closer in. Highly recommended."

"Outside of Bagan city. Not suitable with E Bike"

"It is least visited place because of location. It is just outside Nyaung Oo Town and seperated from other temples. It is brautiful and has a bit to explore. The best thing is you go up to down. You have to start from the roof to the bottom."
